SILIGURI KARATE PLAYERS WON MEDALS AT NEW DELHI

Webdesk, TNI Siliguri, 24th August, 2015: 5 young Karate Players of Siliguri won medals at 11th Independence Cup Karate Championship organized at Talkatora Indoor Stadium yesterday. The Karate Championship was held on last Saturday and Sunday i.e. 22nd and 23rd August. A total of 3000 participants throughout the country took part in the championship. All the 6 players were from a Karate school named Kenryu Kan Gojuryu Karate – Do from Siliguri. Sensei Debasish Dhali was the Chief Instructor, who has guided the players in their training and participation in the event. A total of 7 medals were won by the players in the championship they are likely as:
- Priyanshu Bhowal, category-12 to 13 yrs. Boys, 55 to 60 kgs., got awarded with silver in Kata event.
- Shreyansh Golyan, category -9 to 10 yrs. Boys, got awarded with bronze in Kata event & silver in kumite event.
- Sohan Pradhan, category – under 8 yrs. Boys, got awarded with silver in Kumite event.
- Shreyash Bajla, category -12 to 13 yrs. Boys, 50 to 55 kgs. , got awarded with Bronze in Kata event.
- Rizong Tamang, category -16 to 17 yrs. Boys 50 to 60 kgs. , got awarded with Broze in Kata event & Kumite event.
